Arnaud Cohen fait des collages de signifiants qui partent dans tous les sens. Il cherche à savoir où ça va. Nous aussi. La rage contemporaine (qu'est-ce que l'art, bon sang de bon soir !) le pousse vers ses aînés redoutables, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst et Maurizio Cattelan dont il miniaturise les " maxitures " célèbres, Cicciolina, requins et tranches de vache qu'il fait s'affronter, symboliquement, à l'intérieur de boîtes ouvertes comme des maquettes de théâtre. Il nargue ses maîtres comme d'autres ont tué le père. L'esthétique se retire au profit d'un discours haletant, dont le sens fuit et vous poursuit.

Au sein de ces boites qui font référence aux maquettes égyptiennes emportées par les rois et reines dans leurs tombeaux, les stars de l’art contemporain s’affrontent. Un archéologue du futur y trouvera un état des lieux critique de l’art du XXIème siècle.

Arnaud Cohen pastes meanings that go in all directions. He wants to get to know where all this is leading us to. So do we. The contemporary rage (what is art, damn it?!) pushes him toward his highly dangerous elders, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst and Maurizio Cattelan. He miniaturizes their most famous “maxiatures”, Cicciolina, sharks, slices of cows, and makes them symbolically fight one another in boxes opened like model theaters. He makes fun of his masters like other have killed the father. The esthetics withdraws to the benefit of a panting speech, the meaning of which is both escaping and chasing us. Inside these boxes referring to the Egyptian miniatures the kings and queens would take with them in their graves, the contemporary art stars fight one another. In the future an archeologist will find there a critical overview of the situation of the arts of the twenty-first century.
